In 2021 the cuts to the BxM1 and BxM2 service that connects North Riverdale near the College of Mount Saint Vincent to Lexington and Seventh Avenue at 34th Street were put on hold. Many Bronx residents who use the BxM1 and BxM2 are often traveling to Manhattan - thus the “M.” Many of these buses operate its services during weekday rush hours. Most stops have an installed Metro card machine for an easy purchase convenience.Įxpress buses look similar to a coach bus and run between boroughs. The traditional payment works differently as riders need to pay for the SBS fare before they board. Select bus service is often blue and gold. Limited buses have “LTD” signs on above the front windshield. Limited buses are similar to local buses, but they make fewer stops. The new bus schedule, which was highlighted in a story in The Riverdale Press on June 30, affects only local and some limited stops. Those stops will remain intact, according to MTA officials. The Bronx bus route redesign that went into effect June 26 does not include express buses.
